Hair: Thick, dark and tightly curled, Rae's hair falls nearly to her waist. If there's one thing Rae keeps neat about her appearance, it's her hair. It's always braided neatly up out of the way, in some complicated plait.

Eyes: Her eyes are unremarkable, wide and dark. They're not particularly full of emotion or feeling, nor are they dead and bland, just somewhere in between. She doesn't blink often, although whether naturally, or because it unnerves people is hard to tell.

Build: She's about average height for her age, although her non-existent figure makes her look several years younger, a fact she's extremely conscious of. She's strong, but doesn't look it, something that tends to surprise people when they pick fights. Her feet are too big for her body, giving her somewhat of an awkward, loping stride that doesn't fit her age or her body type. She has dark skin that doesn't react at all to the sun and makes her stand out somewhat from the other slaves.

Face: Rae's face is angular, with prominent cheek-bones and high, arching eyebrows that give her a somewhat mocking expression. Her lips are thin and often chapped from the wind or from other elements.

Dress: Her clothes are cast-offs from nobles or wealthy merchants, so as a result of this they're all fairly mismatched. The deep, expensive colours of the clothes have long since faded or become covered in dirt, so only hints of the colours remain. She's cut down the oversized garments, so that they fit her thin frame better, but they still look odd on her.

Personality: With a sharp temper and a mouth like a sailor, it's hard to overlook Rae. Her direct and often offensive way of speaking has a way of shocking people when they first meet her. Her dark and sarcastic sense of humour does nothing to help their first impression. She's not particularly loyal, and doesn't give her trust easily. She lives for the moment and often rushes into things on impulsive decisions that she usually regrets later. Regrets or no, her rash actions and the consequences don't stop her from doing the same thing next time. She's manipulative, and won't hesitate to use someone to her own advantage, her theory being that she's got to look out for herself first and foremost, before taking care of anyone else. Her general outlook on life is vaguely pessimistic, giving her the 'fend for yourself first' attitude.

History: Rae was born into an enslaved family and has known nothing but slavery. A long time ago, her family was a troupe of traveling dancers and performers, but that was a long time ago and all that's left of those days is stories passed down in the family. Despite being part of a slave family, most of Rae's close family are dead. Her father was transferred to another mining camp after her birth and her mother died in a accident when she was 8. A few cousins and an elderly aunt are the only family she has in the mines.
